FAQ’sWhat is MyJunkhead.com and who’s behind it?
MyJunkhead.com is a site committed to sharing information, old and new, about Broadcast, Health/Fitness/Sports, Music and Foods/Restaurants. We have been interested in this stuff since we were baby Junkheads in the 60’s and believe the community of forty-something’s out there (in mind or body or both) will find our junk useful and of interest.
“We” consists of Steve and Leslie, two really good friends who share a passion for life and did not want to get to fifty-something without taking a shot at a creative endeavor.
Why MyJunkhead?
You mean why the name? Well our spouses and friends are always telling us our brains are filled with tons of useless shit. We don’t think so. In fact, if it was useless shit why were our spouses and friends consistently and persistently asking us questions that made us share our useless shit? Anyway, MyJunkhead.com sounded way better than Myuselessshithead.com, a name we are pretty sure was already adopted by a site for angry married people.
Can you tell us more about Junkhead Steve and how we can reach him?
Sure. Steve is forty-something and has been married to Amy for twenty years. They have three daughters, Jenna, Mackenzie and Ryan. He worries about their future and what this crazy world will become. In his day job, Steve is a Financial Advisor and has been at it for 23 years. Steve has many passions and obsessions. He is crazy about his music having listened to his Ipod everyday since 2001. He is an avid reader (books,magazines,whatever), loves to drive his ‘65’ Mustang, is passionate about the game of golf and loves to get lost in a good movie with a cup of hot chocolate and a can of Reddi Whip nearby .He truly loves the simple pleasures that life has to offer. Steve believes there is a community of Junkheads out there with similar likes and dislikes, thoughts and concerns that want to hear his take on Junkhead topics and share theirs.

Of course. Leslie is forty-something and has been married to Eric for seventeen years. They have two great kids, Max (boy) and Sydney (girl). Leslie is an attorney and has been practicing for seventeen years (hoping to get good at it one day). Her friends think she is a frustrated writer and comedian and are hoping this website will be the outlet she needs to share her thoughts. Leslie was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She loves working out (weightlifting and overall fitness activities), playing tennis, cycling, playing basketball and throwing any kind of ball around with her kids. She loves to write: stories for her kids, poetry for her friends and chick lit that she hopes to publish one day. Like Steve, she is an avid reader and observer and consumer of pop culture and she also thinks you might want to hear her take on Junkhead topics.

Well, for starters, we fashioned it inside our brains and then brought it to the screen with the help of some twenty-something year old computer geek-heads…..so that was creative. And we will be expressing ourselves….yeah, that’s the ticket!....about Junkhead topics in “voices” all our own…and that will be creative...so that’s our story and we are sticking with it
Broadcast is pretty broad. What will I find in that category?
We intended to be broad as technically this includes anything that has been published or disseminated in any way, but for starters we want to help you entertain yourself by directing you to high quality movies (newly released and on dvd), television programs, theatre and great reads. Oh, and I forgot to mention we might share a tidbit or two about tech gadgets, video games or the latest and greatest in consumer electronic products. Again, since we both believe we have a community out there with similar likes and dislikes and interests, we think this will be of value to you.
Can you tell us what you will cover in Health/Fitness/Sports?
Things that interest us and our friends in these topic areas which may include newsworthy items from the world of professional sports, fitness tips, health tips and/or relevant health issues that impact our demographic. We are all aging, hopefully spiritually as well as physically, and this lends itself to all kinds of junk that falls under the heading of Health/Fitness/Sports.
Music?
We know, this one’s broad too, but we told you before and we will tell you again we want to help you entertain yourself by directing you to new great music, concerts or to oldies you might have forgotten which are still jumping and jiving in the minds of the Junkheads.
Foods/Restaurants?
We think this one is self-explanatory. The Junkheads love both food and restaurants and we want to share our eating and dining experiences with you. We may point you to a great restaurant or bonafide joint we located or point out a tasty treat or snack we think you will enjoy.
